Violet L. Chapman

	Violet L. Chapman, age 86, of 509 S. Walnut, Pinckneyville, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2001 at 4:29 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
	Violet was born September 15, 1914 in Winkle, Ill., the daughter of Marion C. and Maggie (Carter) Benedict.  She was united in marriage to Frank Warn Chapman May 20, 1933 in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on March 23, 1988.  Violet was a homemaker and had retired from the Pinckneyville Garment Factory and was a member of the ILGWU.  She was also a member of the Roe's Dale Baptist Church of Pinckneyville, an avid reader and loved farm life.
	Violet is survived by her son, Larry W. Chapman and his wife Bonnie of Pinckneyville; one brother, David Benedict of Hoyleton; two sisters, Carrie Harrison and Madge Hutchinson, both of Pinckneyville; three grandchildren, Mike Chapman and wife Amy of Pinckneyville, Belinda Zoller and husband Randy of Tamaroa and Pam Dudek and husband Tony of Pinckneyville; six great-grandchildren, Cody and Nathan Zoller, Henry and Daisy Dudek and Emily and Lucas Chapman.  Violet was preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter, Doris Faye; three brothers, Reuban, Gerald and Maurice and two sisters, Virgie Wright and Bertha Rennison.
	Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 27 at 11 a.m. at the Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville with Reverends Don Nicholson and Chuck Todd officiating.  Interment was in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Pinckneyville.
	Friends called at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Pinckneyville Monday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. until time of services.
